Handmade Natural Soap

Ingredients

- 1 kg of caustic soda (caustic potash/ sodium hydroxide)

- 3 kg of water (boiled – we can add aromatic herbs when boiling)

- 6 kg of oil (preferably olive oil)

Directions

1. Put the water (at room temperature) in a plastic bowl

2. Add the potash (NEVER the opposite because there is a risk of explosion).

3. Stir the potash till it is completely dissolved

4. Add the oil slowly while stirring until the mixture is homogenized

5. Pour the mixture into a pan (or molds)

6. Cut the mixture into pieces 24 hours later

7. Allow it to dry

ΣΠΙΤΙΚΟ ΣΑΠΟΥΝΙ

ΥΛΙΚΑ

1 κιλό καυστική σόδα (καυστική ποτάσα)

3 κιλά νερό (βρασμένο - αν θέλουμε προσθέτουμε κατά το βρασμό αρωματικά βότανα)

6 κιλά λάδι (κατά προτίμηση ελαιόλαδο)

ΕΚΤΕΛΕΣΗ

Σε πλαστικό σκεύος προσθέτουμε το νερό (σε θερμοκρασία δωματίου) και ΜΕΤΑ την ποτάσα (ΠΟΤΕ το αντίθεο γιατί υπάρχει κίνδυνος έκρηξης). Ανακατεύουμε να διαλυθεί τελείως η ποτάσα και στη συνέχεια προσθέτουμε το λάδι σιγά σιγά ενώ παράλληλα ανακατεύουμε μέχρι να ομογενοποιηθεί το μείγμα. Ρίχνουμε το μείγμα σε σκεύος (πχ ταψί) και μετά από 24 ώρες το κόβουμε σε κομμάτια. Το αφήνουμε να στεγνώσει και σε ένα μήνα το σαπούνι είναι έτοιμο για χρήση.
